Last Melbourne Update

Hey there folks, this is my last update from Melbourne. I have been in Melbourne for a total of 11 weeks, and I’m really glad to be back in Sydney again. This time I choosed to do a 3 week update instead of a 2 week update to sum up my last weeks in Melbourne and have less work to do. So as you can imagine I have a lot to tell. During these 3 weeks I have been to the Formula 1 race in Albert Park, I’ve been to Great Ocean Road, Phillip Island, Frankston, Eureka Skydeck, Australian animals plus more, so you can really look forward to some cool pictures, I assure you that one. Well without talking too much I’ll just let you see the videos :) .

That was all for now, next time I’ll update you on my short Sydney stay.

See ya.

Melbourne Week 7-8 Update

Hey there folks, now it’s time for my 7-8 week update. I really can’t imagine that I’ve been 2 months in Melbourne now, it’s so freaking much time :S. Anyway, the weather is slowly getting colder here; guess autumn is on its way now :( . We got some rain recently, and I’m sure that it we’ll get some more around next week. I found a nice quirt place in the Fitzroy Garden (just east of the CBD) to make my update from; have a look.

Take care until we see again ;)

Marine Stingers at Palm Beach

And now it’s time to tell you about my 2 hour adventure at the gold coast :) . Well as I told you in my last post my friend and I left Byron Bay to go to Brisbane, with a little 2 hour stop at the gold coast in between. When we finally found a parking lot we changed to our beach cloths and went for the beach. After around 10 minutes in the water a wave caring lots of marine stingers just rolled in, so everybody (inclusive me) made a big run for it (manly because I really didn’t know how dangerous these things were). After the marine stingers flushed ashore the life savours began covering them with sand, so I decided to take some pictures with my video camera before they all got covered, have a look :) .

After my pictures I asked one of the life savours, and he said that these blue marine stingers ain’t that dangerous as lots of other stuff you can find in Australia, they will give you intense pain for 3-6 hours, and after that the pain will disappear slowly.
After all those marine stingers we decided to move on for Brisbane, and here I’m :) .

That was all for now folks, stay tuned for my Brisbane adventures ;) .

Christmas & NYE in Byron Bay

Hey there folks, now I’ll tell about my 10 day adventure in Byron Bay :P . Well, as I told in my last post I went all the way up to Brisbane by train, to meet my friend so we could go down to Byron Bay together. When we arrived at Byron Bay it was raining, but to judge from the look of most the people they really didn’t care, they were just having fun :D . Byron Bay I a really nice and cosy surfer/backpacker village, and you really feel a nice vibe when entering this little paradise. After we got settled down in our hostel we went to do some food shopping. The next days it rained a lot (not a single day with sun), we were therefore forced to stay in our hostel and just chill out all day.

People from Byron doesn't care if it rains, it's a beach village and always will be!

Christmas day was a very relaxed day for us, because we basicly didn’t do nothing the whole day apart from eating and prepare food; during the night we went nightclubbing in a local nightclub called Cheeky Monkeys. All the next days it was just raining all the time, so we just chilled out in the hostel all day (apart from 1 day when we went to the beach for a swim in the rain), it was only during the night that we became alive; we were clubbing and partying all night long in our favorite nightclub (Cheeky Monkeys) and at our favorite pub (Beach Hotel) with it’s extraordinary live bands :P :P .

The day before NYE we went to the lighthouse in Byron Bay (to be exact Cape Byron), it was a really nice walk, although it wasn’t sunny. What I didn’t know was that the route up to the lighthouse passed by the most eastern point of the Australian mainland, so that was very cool :D (I can always brag about that one when I feel like it :P ).

When I woke up on the 31th I was feeling ill, and it just got worse and worse during the day. My friend and me decided to have NYE on the beach because all the nightclubs and pubs were taking huge entry fees, (we’re talking around 120$)! So we’d rather spend a good night on the beach than in some crowed club. We therefore went for a pizza and some beers on the beach that evening, it was so nice, even my illness disappeared after having the third beer, so that was great :) . We spend around 2 hours walking and chatting to friendly Aussie guys and backpackers girls. One hour till midnight we gathered around a fire that some locals made, as the fire got bigger the crowd increased too; minutes to midnight we were around 80-100 people around the fire :P . When we entered 2011 the crowd just exploded, people were dancing and singing everywhere, it was so great. Anyway, the fireworks was a big disappointment, because the police didn’t aloud fireworks to be lighten on and around the beach area, so we only got to see 2 batteries illegally light on the beach and 1 rocket far away. Our plans was to go home around morning, but my sickness was beginning to chick in around 2 o’clock so I decided to go home and leave my friend with the party. When I got home I found a guy sleeping on the table in our balcony; I decided to just let him sleep there and go straight to bed. Later that night I woke up while a very drunk guy was trying to get to his bed, while he was trying to do so I heard a big bang from the balcony, we booth went out to see what was happened, and what we saw was the guy lying on the floor with beer bottles spread all over the place and the table upside down in the other end xD; it really looked kind of funny xD  . We spend the last day resting and chilling out at our hostel. We left our hostel early the next morning to go back to Brisbane, but before arriving to Brisbane we made a 2 hour stop at the Gold Coast; anyway I won’t tell about that one now, you’ll just have to wait till my next post xD.

Until then, see ya ;)

p.s. I’m sorry that there’s no pictures from all the clubbing we did, but I really didn’t felt like taking my expensive beast of video camera clubbing.
